The first Travis White Association meeting was held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Travis White Park (under the canopies). Several community members have shown interest by attending this first meeting or getting on the list for future meeting. Olivia Montalvo with City of El Paso Neighborhood Services talked about the benefits of having a neighborhood association. She brought a report showing different projects that the neighborhood grant has funded and gave a general overview of her department. Jim Graghm, President of the Las Palmas Neighborhood Association was also present (and helped pass out flyers prior to the meeting). He talked about the great successes and challenges him and his neighborhood association have faced.
The Neighborhood Association boundaries were discussed and the extension to cover Springwood Drive resulted in passing out more invitations to the next association meeting on June 6, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Travis White Park.
