o Broward Beautiful Grant, T. Surinak: The grant expired on 8/15/08. This is due to Broward County?’s latency in approving the certified landscape architect?’s design of the project. The design was submitted to Broward County for approval in May. The City of Oakland Park has guaranteed that they will follow-through with installing our landscape design at no cost to Twin Lakes South, once the design plans have been approved.
o City of Oakland Park?’s Parks and Recreation department representative: Cancelled due to a prior engagement. Brian Hopper, OP Parks and Recreation superintendent will attend the September 16th meeting.

?• Propose agenda items for September: More information regarding the proposed garbage assessment.
?• Open discussion: Neighbor, M. Phelps shared a public notice that appeared in the Sun-Sentinel. It proposes a waste management assessment of $401.28 for Twin Lakes South and the other recently annexed neighborhoods. More information is needed, because TLS is under a waste management contract with All-Service until 2010. The Sun-Sentinel listed a hearing for this proposed assessment on September 12, 2008 at 6:30PM in the OP Commission Chambers. However, this is a Friday. This date may have been listed in error. M. Phelps volunteered to seek more information regarding this matter and email the TLS email group any new information.
?• Good-byes!!!!: T. Surinak and Dan Smith. Dan and I sincerely appreciate the participation in Twin Lakes South Neighborhood Organization, since it?’s inception in April, 2006. It has been our pleasure getting to know each and everyone of you. We will miss TLS terribly, but will be keeping touch through email. Our friend and former colleague, Leslie Barton, a teacher at Fort Lauderdale High School, will be renting our home and participating in TLS NO. We have confidence that you will make her feel at home, as you have us. Stay in touch!
