??¢ Old business
o Shared responsibilities, The following neighbors volunteered for these responsibilities:
Ed Smith-signs advertising monthly TLS meetings; Joyce Rodrick-1st Commission meeting of every month; Jed Shank-2nd Commission meeting of every month and Oakland Park Neighborhood Coalition meetings; and Noralee Traylor-Mayor??™s Alliance quarterly meetings;
o City of Oakland Park Community Appearance Standards proposal, Rick and Melissa Delman and Ernie Halleand: Shared the resident concerns that were voiced at the December OP Planning and Zoning Board meeting and the outcome of the meeting: decline the Community Appearance Standards resolution. This was a fine example of informed citizens, many from TLS, participating in local government to voice their opinions and getting action.
o Broward Beautiful Grant, T. Surinak: Spoke with Cathy D??™Angelo, horticulturalist for City of OP on 12/4/07. D??™Angelo said that the area to be landscaped needs to have a plan certified by a licensed landscape architect. Because OP is having other areas of Prospect Rd. landscaped, they will include our plan in it and pay for it. Also, they have included two areas for neighborhood identification signs. In the event that TLS would want to add neighborhood identification signs in the future, the plans would already be complete and no cost to TLS. City of OP will also pay for and install low-pressure irrigation (??œbubblers???) for the gumbo limbos to be planted.
o Lights Survey, J. Rodrick, R. Delman, and T. Surinak: Will draft another lights survey with more information, including information from the city.
??¢ New business
o BSO Updates: T. Surinak, requested BSO presence yesterday and did not get a response. Probably too short of notice. Will request BSO rep for January and statistics from 2006 and 2007.

o Progress on City of OP landscape architect plan for Broward Beautiful grant
o Presentation from the City of OP??™s Budget department
o Presentation from City of Ft. Lauderdale on water quality (February). M. Delman will contact

o M. Delman shared that the City of Ft. Lauderdale chlorinated the water from 12/1-21/07.
