It's such a simple thing...It's such a simple thing..
We search and search to find a King, a prince,
a star..a hero..or a Queen.
And when the people we praise fall short...
We simply choose another sport..
It seems we'll try most anything...
We search and search to find a king.
It's such a simple, simple thing...
God gives us what we need in order to succeed.
It's such a simple, simple thing.
We praise any prince with rhythm and song,
A movie star whose act was strong,
Our heros don't need compassion,
Just as long as the cause is in fashion.
You're in if you look good in print, or on the TV screen.
It seems we'll worship anything.
We search and search to find a King.
And when the idols that we praise fall short,
We quickly choose another sport.
It seems we'll worship anything.
We search and search to find A King.
God gives us what we need in order to succeed.
It's such a simple, simple thing.
God gives us peace and bliss, and seals it with happiness.
If we can just keep our focus on the ONE.....
But we don't find that to be much fun.
And so we search and seaarch to find a King,
Some fool to make us laugh and sing.
It's such a simple, simple thing.
