2013 UHNA FESTIVAL--June 22, 2013

The Upper Highlands Neighborhood's ninth annual Festival will be held on the front lawn of Atherton High School on Saturday, June 22, 2013, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  A fun day of entertainment and enjoyment for all ages, including great live music all day.  Interesting speakers each hour during the music breaks. Vendors selling arts and crafts, jewelry, pet products, food, and much more. Over 40 booths and displays!!

Great door prizes for adults:  Gift Card sponsored by Republic Bank;  A wonderful Gift Basket sponsored by Park Community Federal Credit Union. (Sign up at the Upper Highlands Booth.)  Several vendors will have giveaways at their booths also.

There will be an inflatable bouncy house for the kids; miniature golf and cornhole for everyone to play (sponsored by Park Community); a prize wheel for youngsters (sponsored by State Farm); a petting zoo; and face painting.

New This Year Magicians will be walking around entertaining and amazing the crowd all day.  And, bring your cameras for some great photo ops with several popular costumed mascots. More food choices. Fun games.

Community Interest groups including:  Girl Scouts; Raptor Rehab;  KY Humane Society;  CASA; Food Literacy Project; Paws with Purpose; Metro Recycling, and Water Step, who is asking that your bring your old shoes to donate to them for funding their work in providing safe water to countries around the world. 

Police and Fire Department exhibits.

The Red Cross bloodmobile will be there again this year for willing donors. 

Also new this year: This year's festival will be "picnic" style, with barbeque and pizza and italian ice available.  So we hope you will stop by for some food, fun, and conversation with your neighbors!  (NOTE:  Upper Highlands residents should come to the UHNA table to get a voucher for a free barbeque sandwich and chips or pizza.)

  • 12:00 - 2:00 Barefoot Best Friends
  •  2:00 - 4:00 Potluck Ramblers

  • Noon - Maria Koetter, Dir. of Office of Sustainability (Neighborhood Improvement)
  • 1:00 - Rainbow Blossom  (Healthy Living)
  • 2:00 - Frank Otte Garden Center (Gardening and Landscape)
  • 3:00 - Tom Owen, 8th District Councilperson (Neighborhood History)
