NOTICE OF SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING
Uptown Planners – Urban Design/Historic Resources Subcommittee
Monday, April 21, 2003 – 4:30 p.m.

I. Call to Order and Introductions

II. Project Review – Recommendations for Advisory Review

a. Curlew Map Waiver, (Process 3)- Sharon Thurston/Herb Bateman, 10 minutes- Map Waiver application to waive the requirements for a Tentative Map to convert 3 residential units to condominiums on a 0.265 acre site at 3536 Curlew Street.

b. Essex Street Map Waiver (Process 3) – Herb Bateman, 10 minutes- Map Waiver application to waive the requirements for a Tentative Map to convert 39 residential units to condominiums on a 0.521 acre site at 1756 Essex Street.

c. Avalon Development Community Plan Amendment Analysis, (Process 5) Charles LePla – 20 minutes – Provide input to city on plan amendment analysis of request to redesignate approximately 0.46 acre site between Laurel and Maple along 1st Avenue. Applicant has submitted plans for 22 unit project on site where up to 34 dwelling units would be allowed under the proposed change. Note: review is on community plan amendment analysis, not full project.

III. Informational Items

a. 6th and Upas – Tony Cutri – Martinez/Cutri – 15 minutes – Presentation on architecture firm’s proposal to build 10 story residential building above professional offices at northeast corner of 6th and Upas adjoining the Del Prado apartments.


b. 1st Avenue between Robinson and University – Carolyn La France – 15 minutes Presentation on applicant’s proposal to built multi-family residential, replacing residences at 3815-3821 1st Avenue between Robinson and University.

IV. Adjournment

Note: the Committee will convene for an Uptown Existing Conditions Workshop in the same room at 6:30 p.m.
