Friends of Preservation are all invited to a town meeting for discussion of a proposed Sunset Blvd. Traditional Historic District town-meeting for residents/homeowners in Mission Hills.
The meeting will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2003, as 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Room at the United Church of Christ, 4070 Jackdaw (at Ft. Stockton)
The potential historical district involving 77 homes in the Mission Hills neighborhood of Sunset Blvd., St. James, Sheridan and Lyndon.
Although the meeting is meant to explain and discuss a traditional historic district for residents in the potential Mission Hills district, the organizers are encouraging others to attend and provide support and experience in historical districts as well as preservation in San Diego.
Mission Hills resident Janet O'Dea will facilitate the meeting with a slide show presentation and invited "expert" speakers will be Angeles Liera from the City of San Diego; Bruce Coons, Executive Director of SOHO; and Sandy Woodhouse from the County of San Diego. Sandy answer questions on the Mills Act which provides significant property tax relief for the owners of historically-designated homes.
