buca di beppo is going where???

Posted in: Village Of Valleyview
In the messenger it said that the council passed an 'emergency' resolution for construction of the restraunt buca di beppo in valleyview. The only place I can think of it going in at is the pool. It's Sunday nite so I'm going to call around tomorrow but I thought I'd ask on here tonite.
Why?

This sounds a little fishy that it would be an ''emergency'' vote.

They will have to rezone for business. There would have to be a request for ''eminent domain''.

It would be interesting to know who thought up this idea and who will profit from the venture.

Knowing how things work in Valleyview it will be a ''friend of a friend''.

Haven't you wondered how Hellwege got his ''barn'' built, after lying about what it was?

Be careful, they might decide they want your house !

Doubtful

There is probably confusion from the Westside Messenger. I have not seen the article yet so I cannot comment on it, but I know that at this time of the year, the Council has passed contracts with restraunts to have a dinner for the police officers and employees of the Village.

I think that is most likely what the resolution that was passed. It was also passed as an emergency because of the need to get the contract signed and reserve a room that could not wait until the December meeting because of all of the holiday parties.

My last year on Council we passed a resolution paying for the meals of the employees. Village Officials (Council Members and the Mayor) had to pay for their own meals.

Irene is right that there would have to be some zoning hearings and that it could not be done overnight. Before anyone jumps to a conclusion let's see what Denise finds out.

I would be very surprised if Buca Di Beppo was coming to Valleyview and I am willing to bet that it is a resolution that is planning the employee appreciation dinner.
Hard to misquote...

I've left messages today and no call backs yet. The article did mention that the Police Appreciation Dinner is 12/10 @ 6pm. The quote on page 8 of the messenger says ''Valleyview has areed to enter into contract with Columbus's DUI Taskforce to help promote public safety. Officers in Valleyview will receive training in order to target DUI's and other alcohol-related crimes. This resolution, along with one approving the construction of a Buca di Beppo, was pssed as an ''emergency'' resolution in order to ensure its speedy completion.''
That's hard to misquote ''the construction of'' to ''dinner at''
