The Villa Marbella HOA Board of Directors at its October 12th meeting voted to recommend a ?“YES?” vote on San Diego Proposition ?“A?” in the November 7th election. Proposition ?“A?” is an advisory measure that would advise Airport officials to ?“work to obtain ?… 3000 acres at MCAS Miramar by 2020 for a commercial airport.?”
Opinions on Prop ?“A?” leading to the recommendation were based on other sources. The San Diego Union-Tribune analysis of September 10th indicates that if Prop ?“A?” fails, Lindbergh Field (San Diego International Airport) expansion will be a priority, and work to find another expansion airport will be stopped. It said, ?“The idea of a second runway in a V-shaped configuration persists, (requiring) land occupied by the Marine depot, and the Midway post office would be forced to relocate. (It would be for) departures only.?” The analysis also suggests methods ?“to encourage a move to bigger aircraft.?” The article left one Board member envisioning a stream of 747?’s taking off right over Villa Marbella.
Another opinion in favor of a ?“YES?” vote is that property values here would go upwards if nice projects are built in the Lindbergh Field area.
