Come join a garden club and learn the answers to these questions and more!
Members of NGC are members of the largest volunteer gardening organization in the world. NGC welcomes membership applications by individuals and by garden clubs. Members of NGC may learn the basics of flower arranging and horticulture, may avail themselves of educational opportunities in the schools sponsored by NGC and may borrow resources from NGC Headquarters for club programs and projects.
Joining the National Garden Clubs enables individuals to meet other gardeners, to exchange ideas and to compete for awards and grants. Most of the work of this organization is accomplished through the 6,218 clubs with 198,595 members located throughout the United State along with 149 National Affiliate Members and 447 International Affiliate Members each carrying out projects in their communities.
Examples of the scope of some of the projects of these many clubs are:
- Landscape projects for neighborhoods, churches, buildings, schools, and memorial gardens
- Garden therapy for emotionally and physically handicapped youth and adults
- Roadside beautification
- Gardening education for youth
- Conservation and recycling projects
CLUB MEMBERSHIP PROVIDES:
- Educational programs and workshops on horticulture, landscape design, and floral design
- Opportunity to become informed and involved with conservation and the protection of our country’s natural resources
- Meeting and making friends with people who share your interests
- Support and information from the National Garden Clubs, Inc., the largest organized group of gardeners in the world
