Police Area Representative (P.A.R. Officer)
Among the most successful programs of the Aurora Police Department is the Police Area Representatives (P.A.R.) Section. Instituted in 1983, the program was an inventive departure from traditional policing concepts, and emphasized sensitivity and responsiveness to citizen concerns.
The primary activities of the P.A.R. officers are problem solving, education and prevention. Each of the officers work closely with residents and businesses in their areas. Officers attend numerous Neighborhood Watch meetings, presenting information regarding citizen concerns such as crime prevention and personal safety for home and work. P.A.R. officers are also available to offer assistance with problems which may have a detrimental impact on the quality of life in neighborhoods.
Our Area 9 PAR Officer is Stephen Holweger. He works Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and may be contacted at 303-739 6945 or at sholwege@auroragov.org
