During the November Council meeting it was brought up that the contract for fire protection is about to expire and it is time to negotiate a new contact with Columbus Fire Department or Franklin Township. mayor Graves said the Village should pay Franklin Township the contract because they cost less, then she added, ?“Columbus City will respond whether or not we contract with Columbus or the Township.?” Resident Tom Watkins asked ?“why would we give money to the Township if the City has to respond? During the December Special Council meeting Council approved Franklin Township for the new fire contact for $ 45,000 per year for three years.
