Have To Agree

It is always worth looking in too so that you can make educated decisions.

Valleyview should be getting officers that represent Valleyview well. You do not want drunken officers flashing badges at motorists outside of Valleyview on thier off time because they want to prove something. (that Officer was terminated by the way).

It reflects poorly on Valleyview when we end up in the news for incidents such as the one above.

While I reserve my judgement till there is more concrete evidence, one does not turn a blind eye when you hear repeated rumors. But, you also have to have supporting evidence and the rants and raves of one person do not always make a case.

Valleyview is a small force in a small town and rumors can fly quickly around. What I do not like to see is someone with a personal agenda starting something based on their preception of what happened.

We cannot always know what happens behind the closed doors of Council Meetings if they are meeting in executive session. As residents we have to hope that the Council Members ask the tough questions and get satisfactory answers. I know that when I was on the Council and we hired the officers for permanent appointment I asked them point blank during executive sessions about some rumors or incidents that I had heard about them. They answered them and did not shy away from them or come up with excuses. I admire those officers for answering the questions and the answers that they gave were satisfactory to me. I cannot say that the Council is doing that now, but the residents have to hope that they are asking those tough questions. Ask a Councilperson and find out what they know. They should be able to give you an answer (at least what they can tell you by law), but if they do not give you an answer or cannot answer the question call them to the carpet and let them know that you are dissatified by their effort as a council member. They represent you and the decisions they make effect you and everyone else. If they choose poorly in hiring an officer it can cost the Village dearly in lawsuits, reputation and personal security.
Someone found records

This post states that civil records were located on two officers named in the suit. Again, THEY raise the question ''Why aren't they being investigated?''

Got Flagged

The message you list got flagged and was removed from Craigslist.
Flagged by whom?

Gee, considering that the officers involved have computer access, could it be possible that one of them ''flagged'' the post in order to keep others from reading it?

It isn't the postings that matter here, it is the fact that none of you seem to care enough to investigate the report. Maybe Carol Luper would be willing to ''create'' some more news on the Village and the police department?
