Watch for Suspicious Activity

Posted in: Village at Inwood
This did not occur in our subdivision, however, it did occur at another prominent north side HOA. The email reads as follows: ''This morning a man in a silver older model Toyota 4 dr. sedan followed a 17 year old girl from the time she left the main gates at her HOA to her school. The victim was not cooperative to providing any details to security on the description of the male except that he smiled at her repeatedly. He followed her for approximately 15 miles.
We are alerting HOAs to be suspicious of vehicles seemingly waiting near property entrances around the time students leave for school. This can be a case of stalking, a sexual predator, or worse an attempt at taking a family member as a result of what position one of the parents may hold.
Please pass along the information to your property managers so they can advise board members to alert parents to council their children on being aware of their environment and reporting suspicious acts such as this.
Fortunately, the girl stopped at the gate entry point at her school and ran to our security officer who was armed to report the incident. The suspect continued to drive past the school.''
