Some North Tarrant Parkway lanes open By GORDON DICKSON

Work on North Tarrant Parkway won?’t be complete for a few more weeks, but drivers in far north Fort Worth and Keller are already benefiting.
All four lanes were open to traffic Thursday from Beach Street to just west of U.S. 377. By the end of the week, temporary stop signs will be removed and traffic signals will be functioning at Taggart Trail, Trace Ridge Parkway and Park Vista Boulevard, Fort Worth city engineer Mike Weiss said.
A traffic signal at Parkwood Hill Boulevard will be up and running by late next week.
But the real celebration must wait until the first week of June, when the Union Pacific Railroad is scheduled to install new gates at the crossing parallel to U.S. 377. Until then, traffic will still be squeezed down to two lanes at the train tracks.
The estimated 150,000 people who live in the Park Glen and Summerfields neighborhoods have been asking for traffic relief for a decade. For many, getting across the tracks is the biggest commuting headache. It?’s not uncommon for 30 cars to be lined up, and the green light there is notoriously short.
