Traffic Study in Stupidity

Oct 29, 2007

Took a drive this evening going east on Keller Hicks, off of Woodland Springs. Lo and behold, at Keller Hicks and Katy Road observed a new and improved four ways stop. I'm sure this will be quite efficient for travelers going East and West along Keller Hicks. So the two or three elite travelers can enter the traffic unimpeded.
If you live in along Keller Hicks you might consider finding an alternate route home in the evening. As you know, if you?’re traveling North on 377, and turn West on Keller Hicks, not only do we have trains to impede our westward travels; but they have introduced a second obstacle, the all familiar four way stop. It seems someone in the city does not know how to correct traffic congestion, outside of inserting additional obstacles in already congested areas. To prevent the MAJORITY of traffic from traveling unimpeded only by a train and stop light, let's add a four way stop.
The only thing left to do is to add numerous, large speed bumps to stop ALL traffic. Include that in your traffic study.
You know the PRIVELAGED few who demanded this stop sign, are really looking out for the majority who are too ignorant to be able to navigate these roads without their stops signs. So when you travel west down 377 not only will you have to beat the light, turning left, going west; but now, you have to beat the train and immediately stop at the stop sign. As a result, of this NON-intelligent action, the traffic will cease at 377, cease along Keller Hicks, cease along Alta Vista.
HEY! What a great place for a mall, we could all just stop and shop, while allowing the PRIVELAGED few to make it home for the nanny to get home to their family.
Whoever is sleeping with the city official, we need to know it is tax deductible, cash only, or personal favors (wink wink). Which way does this favor train run? Both ways? If so, sign me up.
Because it obviously not in the best interest of the majority of travelers.
Hmmmmmm..Ya think maybe the city officials might be granting a commercial permit for that corner in the near future.
P.S. Instead of doing a traffic study for this intersection at Katy and Keller Hicks, maybe we should do a parking lot study; because that is what it will turn into.
