The article in the Woodland Word regarding Fort Worth trash bins is WRONG! If you follow the guideline it could earn you a city code citation.

Fort Worth provides residential curbside garbage pickup one time per week in BROWN carts that are easy to roll to the curb, keep animals out of garbage, help prevent blowing litter and reduce odors.

* All garbage must be contained in plastic bags inside the brown cart. The lid must be completely closed.
* Overstuffed carts will not be picked up.
* Bags left outside the cart will not be picked up (except city-issued "Pay Bags").
* Make sure the cart is at the curb by 7 a.m. on your pickup day.
* You may set out your cart after 6 p.m. the NIGHT BEFORE YOU PICK UP DAY. (That is NOT Fridays in some areas!)
* Your garbage, recycling and yard trimmings are all picked up on the same day.
