FOOD FAIR FUND RAISING RESULTS
Delicious and beautifully wrapped baked cookies, cakes, pies and breads were generously donated by Alice Carlson, Helen Dzuban, Shirley Earl, Grace Efaw, Alice Jacobson, Rene and John Jensen, Betty McClain, Cindy Ostrander, Claudine Seger and Lucy Silva-Stump. Marcia Paris and Kathy Rinn priced items and set up the beautifully decorated holiday booth, including a photo display board of our Association accomplishments. Gail Bradshaw, Kathy Rinn, Marcia Paris and Claudine Seger sold out of everything from 10am to 3pm. We made $193.00 of our $200.00 goal. A great accomplishment for our 1st effort! Working with Erica from Plaza Palomino was a pleasure. Let them (Plaza Palomino) know you appreciate this kind of neighborhood support. Thanks also to Katy Brown for alerting us to the opportunity and to Lucy and Richard Silva-Stump for making flyers for the VDM bulletin board at McCormick Park and posters for the street corners. Great team effort!
Thanks, Marcia Paris
SECURITY SCREEN DOOR UPDATE
Rick Duffy from the City reports that the contract bid has been awarded and that the contracts are in the process of being signed by the individual homeowners. The City hopes to have all the contracts signed by the end of next week and the work should begin immediately thereafter. The work should be completed in approximately one month from then.
FLOOD PLAIN SURVEYING UPDATE
Barbara Rountree reports that we have late breaking news regarding the status of many of the homes that have been in the flood plain. It appears that some homes?’ status will change completely and others partially. This means some that are paying flood insurance won?’t pay any and others will pay a reduced amount. Come to the meeting for the latest information update. Thank you Barbara for keeping us advised.

BULLETIN BOARD AT McCORMICK PARK
Thanks to John Jensen for supplying the weather stripping and labor to seal the east side of the board. We are looking into how to change the parking lot side of the board so it is more ?“user friendly?” and waterproof.
LOST AND FOUND
I would like to provide space, on the bulletin board, in the form of 3?”x5?” index cards, mainly for lost and found pets. There have been a lot of lost pet signs in our neighborhood recently and I thought that we could provide an alternative to posting them illegally as people are now doing. As long as we have the space on the bulletin board I thought we could post them for 2 to 3 weeks and have the owners call and let us know if the pet has been found or not. If you loose your pet call me and we can get your 3?”X5?” index card with your pets information and your contact information.
Thanks, Richard
CRIME IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Since the last meeting, the following has been reported:
A pickup truck on Bermuda was broken into and it appears that an attempt was made to steal it.
If you have information about this incident or any other crimes, please call the police non-emergency line @ 791-4444 or 88-CRIME.
REZONING MEETING FOR FORT LOWELL AND COLUMBUS/CHRISTOPHER CITY
THURSDAY, JANUARY 11, 2001 - @ 7:30PM
COUNCIL CHAMBERS 255 W. ALAMEDA
We are looking for other interested people in the neighborhood to attend this meeting. There are some concerns that the number of residences (700?) and the proposed business rezoning will dramatically increase the traffic in our neighborhood. We need to find out more information to make good decisions regarding our position on this issue. Please call me if you intend to go to this meeting. Thanks, Richard
