WHAT IS A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET REPRESENTATIVE?

Our neighborhood, Vista Del Monte, is organized so that each street, or group of 10 to 50 houses, has a Street Rep. This is a person who lives on that street and has agreed to act as a conduit for information to and from the Association and the people who live on that street. Sometimes they pass flyers about events. Sometimes they may knock on your door to ask your opinion or let you know about something. They are not there to bother you, so if you prefer not to here from them, politely let them know.

They are also there if you have something that you want to let the Association or other neighbors know about, for example, burglaries, fires or other crimes. If you don't call them they can't let others know!

Vista Del Monte has a phone tree set up so that all street reps can be notified quickly if the need arises to let people know about crime trends or other important information. Once, a couple of years ago, the phone tree was used to notify street reps that a 5yr. old boy was missing in the neighborhood. He was found, without our added help, safe at home, but it was extremely comforting to know that within minutes we could notify a home in every corner of our neighborhood to be on the lookout.

Another year, around Christmas, street reps talking together about burglaries on their streets noticed a trend, idnetified a suspect description and the Association kept in communication with the police about the matter.
