The Vladeck Houses Multicultural Family Day event held on August 13, 2005 was a great success.
The food was great (macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, pernil, crabmeat salad, empanadas, arroz con gandules, arroz con calamares, arroz con maiz, arroz blanco, red beans, pink beans, white beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, casaba, buffalo chicken, collard green, chef salad, just to name a few of the dishes served)
Many thanks to those who helped with the cooking. Entertainment by: Live Latin Music by: Direct Latin Influenece and our neighborhood DJ Tony "B" Bonilla. Enjoyed by the residents.
The kids enjoyed their 55 foot whale bouncer. Face painting done by our neighborhood artist "Chico"
Many thanks to: The NYC Fire Department Education Unit who was a big hit. The Glaucoma Foundation which provided free vision screening. Cancer Cares another big hit - provided two seminars on early detection of cancer. The PSA 4 Explorers, and PSA 4 Police Officer's Duran and Flores. Vladeck Houses staff for all their assistance.
See you again next year.
