Once again the Vladeck Houses held its annual family day event with a bit of a twist this year. Due to the withdrawl of our annual funding from NYCHA this year Vladeck Resident Council decided to get a bit creative this year not only did we have our event indoors (first time) but we had some hot music provided by Direct Latin Groove who kept everyone dancing and singing - they even had some back up singing provided by non other that our own senior residents who by the way belted out quite a few tunes. We also did a mini flea market which many of the residents found the idea pretty creative - the Resident Council raised a pretty nice amount on this venture not bad for a first time idea, we will be toying with this idea and adding some extra twists for a future event - give us some thoughts and ideas for other events.
