The plight of us non-custodial parents is a lousy one. We get almost no power in decision making regarding our children, yet are required by law to pay at least half the bills regarding those decisions. It's an unfortunate situation where money becomes the bargaining chip our ex-spouses use to get revenge or strike back.
I understand there are national and state level organizations working to remedy these problems, but I've seen very little progress locally.
In fact, just recently the prosecutor's office was convinced I was behind in child support (due to their inaccurate record keeping and illogical math) despite my ex and I protesting. In fact, we both had to appear and swear that everything was square. If anyone would know, it would be her and I. Then, just this week, the clerk's office has ''held'' a check from her b/c according to their records I was paid ahead (which again, was not the case).
Good luck
