1. Welcome and Introduction
2. Guest Speaker: Richard Gottfried, New York State Legislature Assembly member . Richard discussed the stadium, low income housing, ballot issue and the city charter.
3. Reading of the Minutes of Prior Meeting- the minutes from the prior meeting were approved
4. Reports of Officers
4.1. President?’s Report
4.1.1. Report of Internet site (http://www.west46streetblockassociation.org) activity through Aug 31st: 38 visits to entire site, 34 home page, 1 calendar, 0 newsletter
4.1.2. Grants awarded by Citizens for New York City "2005 New Yorkers for Better Neighborhoods Building Blocks Award" for $500 each ($1,000 total). The first grant was requested for block beautification and the second for member recruitment. Details of the grant are as follows:
BLOCK BEAUTIFICATION
4.1.2.1. Goal: Increase awareness of the block association through beautification efforts.
4.1.2.2. Fill tree pits on Tenth and Eleventh Avenues with flowers and make wooden borders.
4.1.2.3. Plant the Alexandra Palmer Memorial Garden at May Matthews Playground (already spent and accomplished)
4.1.2.4. Paint green mail holding boxes
4.1.2.5. Approach Ivan Shapiro House, Hartley House and St. Clements to determine how we can assist with their beautification efforts.
4.1.2.6. Approach restaurants to determine how we can assist with their beautification efforts.
4.1.2.7. Purchase (or build) signage for the planned block association bulletin boards.
MEMBER RECRUITMENT
4.1.2.8. Goal: Increase awareness of the block association through beautification efforts.
4.1.2.9. Obtain more mailing addresses of residents and expand our list to include all businesses.
4.1.2.10. Create enclosed bulletin boards made of wood and Plexiglas and hang them in buildings in the Block Association's jurisdiction.
4.1.2.11. Send direct mail to residents and businesses telling them about our emergency preparedness initiative.
4.1.2.12. Publish our directory of resources and mail to residents and businesses.
4.1.2.13. Solicit members and interest from the community during two weekends where we staff a "welcome table" giving away lemonade and snacks.
4.1.2.14. Provide refreshments during the annual handball tournament to solicit potential members.
4.2. Vice President?’s Report
4.2.1. Status of Bulletin Boards- Darrick reported that the Christina is creating the boards
4.2.2. Annual Wine & Cheese Party (Friday, June 17th at 6:30pm)- the event was a success
4.2.3. Fall Block Cleanup (October 9th is tentative date on our calendar)- we did not finalize this event
4.3. Treasurer?’s Report
4.4. Secretary?’s Report (in position?’s vacancy, President will address any matters)

5.1. Meeting with Community Board Four on June 7th
5.2. Introduction to Eddie Dean, JMED Holdings (owners of former Sound Factory)- meeting on Thursday, June 30th- Darrick reported that Christina and him met with Eddie Dean
