WMNA came into being at the request of city officials of VISTA. They were seeking to form a neighborhood association for the West Morningside area. The West Morningside Area is bound by Rosedale St. on the north; E. Berry St. on the south; I-35 on the east; and the Pacific railroad tracks on the west.
The purpose of such an association is to better the neighborhood and improve access to city programs, resources, and services.
Our slogan: "What is a neighborhood without people working together in unity."
The Clara Harden Headstart School is located in the area.
We see our purpose of a safe, cleaner neighborhood; crime is curbed, street improvement inn progrress.
Members of the WMNA participated in the Great American Cleanup.
Our neighborhood has a newsletter distributed twice a year.
We have crime watch to make the neighborhood safer.
