West Plaza Neighborhood Association

A black woman driving a white car knocked at my door (39th & Rovey) asking for me to donate to United Way.  I declined to donate because I have been swamped with direct mail donations and although she flashed  a United Way brochure, it did not feel right to me.  I did not think that United Way solicited door to door.  She drove away and did not stop at any other house nearby that I could see.  I called United Way and they said that perhaps one of the "partner" organizations may solicit that way.  This woman only mentioned that United Way wanted to get some people into homes before Christmas. I'd be extra cautious about solicitations this time of year.
