I'm not sure if anyone else has been hearing about the Living Streets movement happening elsewhere in the world, but it sounds like something great for the Greater East Honolulu Community Alliance. There is also Complete Streets here in the USA: http://www.completestreets.org/
Perhaps we can start up our own version for Honolulu?
Anyway, here is some information if anyone is interested. Basically, the concept is to bring the streets back to life by making them less car-dominated, better for pedestrians, young and old, strollers, bicyclists, more green spaces and mixed-use areas....it sounds perfect for Kaimuki.
