Trash & Recycle program

Kansas City Recycle Program

Our neighborhood is included in Kansas City's recycling program. Recyclables and trash are picked up every week on the same day but possibly different times. There is no limit on the amount of recyclables you may put out for pick up, but there are restrictions on what items are acceptable for recycling. You need to use at least one official recycling bin and should place all recyclables away from the trash bags to help identify them as recyclables.

Trash collection

You may put out two bags of trash weekly. Additional trash bags require a special tag that may be purchased for $1.00 each at most Westlake Ace Hardware and Price Chopper locations.

Bulky items

Bulky items too large for weekly trash bags are scheduled for pick-up by calling the Action Center at 311. See the link below for more information.

Note: Recyclables, trash and bulky items should be placed at curbside no later than 7am on the designated days to ensure collection.  See the link below for more information about recycling, trash/recycle pickup day of the week and holiday schedule.
