The Washington Park East N.A. will be hosting the Saturday, March 13th general meeting of the Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation (INC) organization. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall in the basement of the Washington Park United Methodist Church at 1955 E. Arizona Street. The meeting begins at 9 AM and runs through Noon.
What is INC, you ask? INC began in 1975 as a group of neighborhood activists meeting together, and incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)3 Denver neighborhoods organization in 1978. INC believes that neighborhood organizations deserve to participate in city government, and through involvement in monthly public meetings, committees, and other activities, Denver neighborhoods, working together, have more influence on the decisions made by our city government representatives. INC is taking full advantage of Mayor John Hickenlooper?’s ?“transparent government?” campaign promise, and INC members are providing input as city government reorganizes. WPENA is a voting member of INC (the annual membership fee is $35), and all members of the Board have represented us at one time or another at INC meetings.
The featured speaker will be Stephanie O'Malley, Denver's Director of Excise and Licenses. Additionally, elections for INC Board positions will be held. INC delegates wishing to run for office must be from neighborhoods whose INC membership is current for 2004.
Please come hear about issues affecting all neighborhoods in the City and County of Denver.
