The 3rd Annual Steele Stampede 5K Run/Walk to benefit Denver's Steele Elementary School's educational and enrichment programs is scheduled for Sunday, September 19th. Pre-registration is available at Sports Plus, 1055 S. Gaylord, and Runners Roost, 1685 S. Colorado Blvd. Cost is $22 for adults; $12 for kids 12 and under and seniors. Courses start on the school's west side at East Alameda and South Marion Parkway, then circle around Washington Park. The 5K run begins at 8:30 AM, followed by the 5K race walk at 8:35, and the 1K family fun run at 9:15. The Vince Lombardi Superbowl XXXIII Trophy will be on display at the school as part of the post-race festivities. For additional registration information, call 303/764-7600 X31565.
