TO BE DISCUSSED MARCH 16TH: In our continuing effort to inform our neighbors about important issues, the next general meeting of the Washington Park East Neighborhood will feature presentations by both proponents and opponents of the proposed new Justice Center. The proposal includes new court facilities, a new City Jail, a rehabbed Smith Road County Jail and a new parking structure. The estimated cost is $600 million. The citizens of Denver will be asked to vote on this bond issue on May 3rd. The presenters will include LeRoy Ramos of Citizens for a Safer Denver, and Adrian Brown of Citizens for a Better Denver, with tentative participation by Christie Donner, Co-Director of the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition. A question and answer period will follow these presentations. It should be a lively evening, so please join us at 7 PM on Wednesday, March 16th in the South Parlor of the Washington Park United Methodist Church at 1955 E. Arizona Street.
