Renters Welcome at Meetings?

Posted in: Washington Park East
I moved to Wash Park in 1992 and will probably buy my first house here next year. My first and last meeting was in 1993. As a renter, I felt that my opinions were not wanted as I was "only" a renter. I have lived in this neighborhood longer than a lot of the homeowners and I feel I care about the Wash Park area more than most. Are there any renters here that feel the same? I understand what homeowners feel about us, but if that is so, why ask for volunteering to distribute a newsletter etc. After all, my family is just a gypsy to Wash Park, unlike you homeowners who move in, wait 2 years and sell...Just something to think about...

Yes - participate!!!

I was a renter who has become a home owner. I really think that your participation (and mine when I was a renter) is important. Especially since there are so many renters amongst us. I also would say "you homeowners" as you state is a little broad - as you don't know how many people would and do welcome renters as a part of our neighborhood. I also look at renters as an integral part of a city neighborhood such as ours.
I am a renter
