Washington Park East Neighborhood Association

I hear that there is a landmark proposal to turn the Country Club Gardens on Downing north of Bayaud, into new Condos. They are beautiful old buildings with historic meaning and character and I would hate to see that happen. Does anyone have anymore info on this?

Hi Susan, Check with Kathleen Booker at Historic Denver 303-296-9887. They are working on the issue. Also West Wash Park NA is active in this matter.

Knock 'em down!

I disagree. I think these buildings are ugly. If we knock them down and build condos, maybe our property value will go up. Either way, the buildings are ugly and almost anything erected will be an improvement.

Condos, please!

Please demolish those ugly buildings! They're only about 50 years old, so they can't have any historic signifigance and they no longer fit into the nice Wash Park surroundings.

In place of the apartments, I hope they build nice condos like the ones on Downing and Speer.

Let's make this neighborhood a better place to live and a better-looking place to live!
