WASHINGTON PARK PRESERVATION AND ENHANCEMENT
Council Meeting
P O Box 1233
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311

April 5, 2007

Our meeting opened at 7:15pm. Yvonne Sumlin gave the roll call, Idella Wright and Julia Porter present.

Minutes from March 1, 2007 were read. Idella made a motion to accept the minutes.
Julia made a motion to accept. We voted and the minutes were accepted.

We discussed the actions that had been taken on NW 9th Place. Ted Vitale assisted us with the complaints from residents. A letter along with a copy of our Preservation and Enhancement Plan was mailed to the property owner. The property owner has addressed the problem. We now have a form letter to use for future violators once we have notified the County.

We discussed the Rooming Houses/Drug Halfway House/Court Release House complaints. Ted also assisted us with contacting County Agencies to process Notices of Violations.

Yvonne emailed Ted to thank him for all of the help with the complaints that have been received, some since June 2004. Now that we have a process in place we feel we can address the problems in a timely manner.

The dirty street on NW 6th is still being investigated.

We wanted a list of homes that are rented. This is going to be a difficult task. We will need to just address each issue as it is referred to us.

Our election for Council members is in May. Ted will handle the election at our Civic Association meeting on May 10, 2007.

Information was passed out on the water shortage from the website.

Yvonne has brochures from Solid Waste and Recycling. She will bring to the next Civic Association meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 7:51pm.
