Our meeting was called to order by Yvonne Sumlin at 7:15 pm. She gave the roll call, Idella Wright and Julia Porter present. James Ross absent and Michelle Johnson resigned. We read the minutes from the November meeting. Idella motioned to accept the minutes as written. Julia seconded the motion. We voted and accepted the minutes.

We had no old business to discuss.

The Washington Park Civic Association President Ivette Spence-Brown resigned. The Association will hold an election at the next meeting in January 2008. We discussed trying to unite the two Associations. Yvonne will contact the President of Lafayette Hart Park Association about their status and uniting the Associations.

Ted Vitale told us a letter had been sent to the property owner on NW 9th Place due to numerous complaints of nuisance loitering and inappropriate behavior. We also discussed the problems with Kelly Sod and the violations on the property. The grandson is trying to bring the property up to code. Vivian Franklin?’s home is being rebuilt according to the Plan?’s code. We discussed the dumpster on 8th Place that has materials that are not from building construction. NW 9th Court has a notice to clean the site because of debris.

There is a pickup on NW 8th Street loaded with trash, it hasn?’t moved in about a month. It will be checked into.

We discussed the assisted living and half way houses in our Neighborhoods.

There are drugs and crap games being done in houses in our Neighborhoods.

Yvonne went to a workshop on Sexual Predators in our Neighborhoods. They provided information on the latest Predator to move into our Neighborhood. They also gave information on what their requirements are on checking on the Preditator.

We discussed the election for new Council Members in March and the advertisement.
