Exterior Repair Grant Stalled

Mar 21, 2000

As you know, the Empowerment Zone program had begun an Exterior Repair Grant program to help homeowners to renovate and repair tho outside of thier homes. It was targeted to those who live on certain main streets, so as to improve the look of communities attempting to attract new residents and businesses.

Last spring, WPNPC was able to begin the grant process (offering a homeowner $1500 towards renovations) and sign 10 residents up.

Unfortunately, the program stalled due to the untimely and sad death of the director of Light Street Housing, the organization identified as the contractor for the renovations.

WPNPC is working very hard to start this exterior repair grant program again. Look for an update soon!
