I started to research further and I think that we are stretching things a bit by attempting to take it out on the poor word 'plantation', which is actually synonym for 'farm'. Would we have been Rhode Island and the Farms? Had we just called them 'farms', would we then need to expunge the word 'Farms" from all of our place names?

Maybe we need to change Island from the name as we are not all on an Island?

We can extract anything out of so much of a perception, but can we just get along and not rely on perceptions of the mind?
