Now that Con Ed has begun serious demolition of the old steam plant and surrounding buildings - to be completed by 12/2024, says the Demolition company sign on the surrounding fence - what are the plans for the pier?
Does anyone know?
3 years ago, a RE rep for Con Ed told me the company planned to "expand their electric field" but does that mean they will free up the pier for other uses or sale, and just used the newly cleared land east of Gold Street? Is there a plan to extend Brooklyn Bridge Park? To sell to CRE interests?
A call to Media Relations at Con Ed didn't get me past the AA.
Has anyone a better contact or information?
