Health, Safety and Fitness for families is of vital importance and all three continue to be topics for discussion but they seem to overlap in so many ways, that often with our busy lifestyles and limited budget it is easy to say we’ll do it tomorrow. A Boca Raton mom, Gina Barron decided to make a difference a few years ago by partnering with Del Prado Elementary School principal, Sandra Rhategan. Now 5 years later they are teaming up again with PTA’s Sandy Roth to continue the discussion and raise awareness. We welcome families from Palm Beach and Broward Counties to share this day.
The goal is to provide one day of entertainment, fitness, safety tips and valuable information that can save lives and do this all for FREE. We want parents and their children to come and experience different foods, drinks and get moving. AT the same time we feel it is important to reach out to local businesses and give them an opportunity to showcase their products/services at no charge. This should be a win/win for everyone. Childhood obesity is an enormous problem in our society and we are hoping to address it head on by providing experts in specific fields to come and demonstrate various physical activities, non-profits and healthcare professionals to provide information on community resources.
Interesting challenge when you think of the economy. However; to date the community has stepped up and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
