Hey Bill,
We chose a Google Group for Colonial Acres primarily because it allows a member to use his/her existing email address. Yahoo requires a yahoo email address.
A Google Groups' web site features (Discussions, Pages, etc) are comparable to Yahoo's but seem to be easier to use over all. We can see the group email discussions online, create simple web pages, and upload documents (Word, PDF, photos, etc).
This neighborhoodlink.com site, CANA's official web site, has a calendar at the top left of the home page. And a free classified ad section on the right hand side of the home page. But no email functionality.
Our Google Group's main purpose is to provide a crime watch email service/newsgroup for its members. Group policy on what is ok to post is pretty clear, i.e. crime-related and safety info, lost/found pets, no ads, no politics, etc. We have a few managers now to help organize as needed, but may be able to use your assistance or newsletter articles in the future so thanks for your offer!
We're open to ideas and suggestions for improvement. Again, appreciate your ongoing support of CANA!
Thanks,
CANA Guy
