Clocks have been turned back over the weekend for daylight savings time, it is also time to go now while you read this to check the batteries in your smoke detectors because the holiday season can put a strain on your electric and more of a chance for fire.

Better safe then sorry, so go check them now.

Looking at Almira school today, standing there empty waiting to be torn down and a new school built. It seems nice, but why do they do this? Is it that bad and can't just be rebuilt? The millions of dollars to build a new school compared to a lower cost to make the old one like new again, seems to be a waste of money the city don't have in the first place.
