I just moved to Fort Wayne but I lived out in the country in Ohio and I used pellet and BB guns all the time and you made a remark that they shoot at 485 fps (feet per second) but I just wanted to let you guys know that they are cappible of much more my pellet gun shoots over 800 fps and I have seen pellet guns that shoot over 1500 fps. I can also say that they will definitaly kill an animal I go squirl hunting and I have killed several other animals such as coons rats I put down my neighbors dog for them back in Ohio so they are very capible of killing animals and I believe that they should start making it a little harder to purchase one like a .306 or even a .22 I have seen pellet guns that shoot just as hard as most .22's.

I hope all your animals get better and I hope this info helps.

This was not always always an issue here. I grew up in Pooler and honestly it was the most cat friendly area. You rarely saw strays cause people actually fixed their animals or took in the occasional drop off, fixed them and that become their new family member. When the town started growing and mayor Mile Lamb started caring more about his prestige than the citizens and it's laws is when I noticed a downward spiral. We never use to have trash all down the street or even or the main road. You would never see broken down abandoned car on the side of the road. To hear the police other than for a wreck was such a rarity. I know the mayor personally, and I can tell you that unless people with money and upstanding citizens like my family and obviously you being a doctor (like my father) and your husband being a scientist, your family, all coming together and making this an issue we want handled, it will continue to get brushed aside. I lived on the otherside of Pooler by Pine Barren and in the last five years moved over to old historic downtown Pooler area. My cat goes to the vet every year. Almost 9 months ago she came home and hasn't even attempted to go outside. I thought this was odd but didn't force the issue. I just thought she was gettin older. I took her in for her annual. She has a pellet in her mouth, they estimate it's around a year old. Exactly the time when the last time she came running home with a bloody paw, and I doctored it. The paw healed fine so I thought maybe she fell off a fence, maybe someone's dog got loose. It healed and I never dreamed it was something more. NOT IN POOLER!! I was wrong, SHE HAD ALSO BEEN SHOT! Her face they shot at her head, my heart and soul, they tried to kill my bwestfriend. She is 12, and now won't even attempt to go outside. It's disheartening, I use to plead with her to come in, but she obviously survived something tragically life changing. I have another neighbor who's older who is missing 3. And I have lost two rescues I spayed and neutered and then find homes for on my dime NOT THE GOVERNMENTS! I finally bought surveliance cameras with night vision and sound. Their outdoor cameras with 150 night vision range. My plan is To survey my area, but the neighbor who is missing her cats yard too. She asked me too put them between our yards. When I catch them, I'm going to expose and embarrass the city of Pooler. And they better pray I don't accidentally get shot because I have documentation of repeated calls to address these issue's. The real concern is not just protecting people's pets, who are in their own areas where they belong. The REAL ISSUE IS IT IS FACTUALLY PROVEN THAT THIS TYPE OF VIOLENCE AND CRUELTY LEADS to murder and perpetually sadistic Serial Killers. They start out torturing pets and small animals. So are you really condoning that type of spiraling violence and behavior MIKE LAMB?!

I had a neighbors Dog constantly coming into my yard and using it has his personal bathroom. I asked him a few times, nicely, to please keep his dog out of our yard. As it is annoying to be walking in my yard and end up with "stuff I do not want" on my shoes. I resolved the problem one day when I caught the dog in my yard by using my water hose, I gave the dog a good shower, and he hasn't been back since. I see no reason to shoot another persons pet unless they are endangering your life, or the life of a child/loved one. A good water hose shower has always seemed to do the trick for me, and I only use that as a last resort.

Letting your cat run around the neighborhood is illegal too, not to mention incredibly inconsiderate to your neighbors. If you are as educated and decent as you claim, you should realize that breaking the law and being an inconsiderate neighbor doesn't exactly improve the quality of the neighborhood that you're calling into question.
