What's up in Bonnie Brae? Speeding people through our neighborhood, trying to bypass T-REX messes, or going between the overcrowded and over-built Colorado Blvd and Cherry Creek areas. Doesn't anyone know that, ''25 MEANS 25''!?!
How about the changing character of our neighborhood due to out of control poptops? Just how big of a house does one need to build on a small lot? There is little neighbors can do, unless there is a code violation, or to speak up at a hearing, if there is one. We must do more to change the muni laws that govern zoning. We must protect our inner-city historic neighborhoods.
Plant a tree lately? Well, do it! Try to imagine our neighborhoods without them... we live is the desert, with little natural moisture. This means extra care for our urban forest. We must keep replanting the lost trees to the drought and bad storm losses. The city must also do more to replant and maintain what we have.
Well, that's my soapbox for today!
