ATTENDING OFFICERS:

CALL TO ORDER:
The November 2009 meeting of the Westhover of Taylortown Civic Association was called to order at 7:10 p.m. in the Bear Library by the President, Steve Antonio who welcomed and acknowledged the presence of community members. Minutes from June 2009 meeting were read and approved.
CORRESPONDENCE:
- Incoming:
- Notification of seminar from Councilman Smiley. Steve Antonio will try to attend.
- Outgoing:
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
- Steve Antonio read the Financial Report. Fiscal year begins this month.
- Street Light outage reported on Taylor, Poe and Mozart drives. Terry Goodwin volunteered to log the outage and request repair. Request was made to note process for having street lights repaired in minutes. To report Street Light Problems call 1-800-375-7117 (obtain the ten digit street light number from the lamp pole or give address where light is located). - Dues “Thermometer” is in progress. Update will be provided by Doug Yoder at the next meeting.
- Councilman Smiley and Representative Melanie Marshall were unable to attend the meeting due to prior engagements.
- Discussed the 3 or 4 vacant houses in our neighborhood. One home had broken windows and debris in the yard. Jerome Burton called county police on November 3rd to report vacant homes and their condition. Repair work is to be completed by November 7th.
NEW BUSINESS:
- A suggestion was made to change the number of Association Meetings from three (3) times a year to two (2) times a year, occurring in October and April. The Secretary will make changes to the By-Laws for review and approval.
- Officer elections were completed. The following are officers for the 2010-2011 periods.

- Terry Goodwin distributed dues notices to the neighborhood on November 2, 2009.
- Explanations for Code Violations for New Castle County were requested. The New Castle County Code Enforcement is available at every meeting. These can be located at the front table.
HEAR FROM:
Councilman George Smiley and Representative Melanie Marshall were at previous engagements this month.

Adjournment: All matters having been concluded, the meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m. The Executive Committee will meet at Elaine Levey’s home on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 7 p.m. The next Civic Association meeting is scheduled at the Bear Library in March 2010.
