Cheryl, Sorry to hear you caught the cold.... lot's of that going around right now in our office, too. And keep up the good work with petitions. Every signature counts!!!

I, too, appreciated the duck story. Motherhood has commonalities throughout many species, doesn't it. My daughter is a little more stubborn than that little duckling, though (hee hee).

For BRF2 - NW Parkway

The NW Parkway was included in the 1995 Master Plan based on the recommendations of Broomfield citizens. During the many meetings on the Master Plan, Broomfield citizens said they wanted the NW Parkway. This is support for the Parkway.

Growth, growth, and more growth

I think you already made the connection by stating the obvious. The common goal seems to be to promote growth as fast as possible, and the NMP will quickly destroy some lovely rural housing and agricultural land in the northeastern part of Broomfield. Have you ever driven across Highway 7 from Lafayette to I-25? It's really quite pleasant now, but that won't last for long.

Don't get me wrong. I don't blame Interlocken or the other big developers who support this. It is in their best interest. What I don't understand is why the Broomfield CC continues to be a contributor to this when the citizens don't seem to want it. I have yet to meet one person who truly believes the NWP will really relieve traffic on 287 or the Boulder turnpike. What it will do is add tremendous traffic from the 10 or 20 thousand new homes which will be built. BUILD IT AN THEY WILL COME. Broomfield used to be a nice small town.

wanted or simply anticipated?

Did they actually say they WANTED it, or did they simply say they anticipated a need for it in the future? It is wise to anticipate something and plan for it now (like acquiring and setting aside needed right of way), but that is not the same as vigorously and perhaps very unwisely promoting something before a need naturally exists.

I don't recall anybody ever saying "I want it NOW", and I attended many of those meetings.
