Holiday Collection Schedule

The city has begun a new holiday collection schedule. When a holiday falls on a collection day, collection will take place on the following day. Holidays on Wednesdays or weekends will not affect the schedule. Please note that the city of Phoenix does not recognize Columbus Day as an offical city holiday.
For example: (A Monday holiday)
Residents, who normally have collection of garbage or recyclables on a Monday, will have collection on the following day. That will move Tuesday's collection to Wednesday.
Other collection days during this week will NOT be affected because there is no regularly scheduled collection on Wednesdays.

For example: (A Thursday holiday)
Residents, who normally have collection of garbage or recyclables on a Thursday, will have collection on the following day. That will move Friday's collection to Saturday.
Collection days during the following week will NOT be affected because there is no regularly scheduled collection on weekends.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday 1/15/07 Monday's collection will be on Tuesday 1/16/07

The City Does Not Observe Columbus Day - 10/8/07 - Regular Collection Day
Veteran's Day Monday 11/12/07 Monday's collection will be on Tuesday 11/13/07
