We live at 2924 W. Wethersfield Rd in Westown.
I am writing to inform you that our house was broken into last week on Tues. night.
We were asleep at the time, and the intruders were only able to get into an adjoining room and not the main house, so not much was taken. We did not know until the next morning.
The intruders were on the back patio and tried to gain entrance through the back kitchen door by slicing the screen and trying to unlock the door from the inside. We had the deadbolt locked so they were not successful.
Since then we have learned of two other incidents from other residents. One from the police officer that came to take our report and the other while shopping for security bars at Home Depot.
This e-mail is simply to let you know that the neighborhood is being targeted for burglaries.
They seem to be mainly interested in getting to wallets, keys and purses, but they will probably not limit themselves to those items.
In our instance they stole a jacket, some cigarettes and drinks from a small refrig. in the room they were able to access.
