Page 2: BLIGHT CAUSES:

NUMBERS ADD UP TO 400%. That is mathematically impossible. If Graffiti, the 1st number is in fact correct at 52%
then the entire rest of the items on the list together are 48%. Since there are 9 items - if they are equal problems of blight, that makes them 5.33% each. Why are you trying to convince the public that the neighborhood is going downhill, when it has in fact both improved in appearance and value DRASTICALLY over the last 13 years?!

In bold print it does state that the facts are from a survey done by the City of Phoenix. I do not feel that the intent of that article was to convince us that our neighborhood is going downhill, but if their is graffiti or blight problems they do need to be addressed. I do not enjoy seeing that when I drive through Westown.

Blight Article

The article you are referring to was in relation to the whole city. It was also based on a survey that was compiled and those cases were a percentage of the properties. That is why it would never just be 100% but I can see how you would be confused.
You are very correct that our neighborhood has improved DRASTICALLY over the past years and I attribute that to an active block watch and awareness of the neighborhood.
I would never portray that the neighborhood is going downhill. Westown has a severe grafitti problem right now and if you are unsure what I am talking about email me and I will send you pictures of what we have documented at the school and on several fences and buildings scattered throughout our neighborhood.
It is my duty to make the neighborhood aware of the good and bad things going on in our neighborhood and I would like to tell you that I welcome you to join our board if you would like to be more involved in YOUR neighborhood because we are a VOLUNTEER organization and are always looking for more help to benefit our neighborhood.
