The Westside Hunt Board of Directors will meet on the second Tuesday of every other month at 7:30PM, i.e. Dec. 02, Feb. 03, April 04, etc. The annual community meeting will be held on November 20 at 7:00PM at the New Castle County Police station in Middletown.
The board will stay in touch with the Southern New Castle County Alliance and report to the community on issues.
Four Sterile Grass Carp have been added to the open space pond in an attempt to control future algae problems. Cost was $48.00. Thank you Clif for taking action.
Community Days: To be held within the month of October. Joe S. has been hired to aerate the community open space and spread the topsoil. Volunteers are needed to spread grass seed and starter fertilizer. Step up if you have a spreader. Community to purchase seed and fertilizer. The fence needs to be painted. Please see Matt Patterson to assist or email the coordinator. The Gazebo also needs to be painted. The trees and bushes need to be mulched, trimmed, etc.
Greg replaced the vandalized lamppost and is shopping for a replacement floodlight to install.
Many thanks to Sue and Beth for watering the trees and shrubs in the cul-de-sac.
Clif will contact the snow removal company to assure service this winter if needed.
Doris to prepare the 2003 budget and 2002 expenses for the November community meeting. A recommendation was made to lower the annual assesment per household. This to be determined at the annual meeting.
It was decided not to have the county take over running the community financing due to the excellent cooperation in our community.
Karen L. will study the by-laws from Back Creek and Fox Hunter Crossing to get their verbage on pool fences, and make recommendations to the board on rewriting our by-laws (requires 51% community approval to change)to include aluminum pickets (no maintenance)at the suggestion of NCC contact Al Washington.
Our Secretary, Susan Munley, has resigned and that position must be filled. The two term year of Clif Coleman, Doris Morris, and Greg Sacco has been fulfilled, but all are willin to remain if suitable candidates are not forthcoming. Nominations will be made during the November Community Meeting. Elections held the same evening. Dave McGuigan has volunteered for board position.
A special WSHMC will be held on on 11/12/02 at Clif Coleman's home to plan the community wide meeting of WSHMC on Nov. 20.
Nominations for all board positions are now being accepted. The vote for board positions will take place at the Nov 20 meeting, so please try to attend.
