What do you all think of the proposal to tear down the current UCLA Faculty Center and build a convention center with 300 room hotel.

Seems like a really badly timed idea! I cannot imagine how they will fill 300 hotel rooms at $250/night. With a 70% occupancy (and 100% occupancy of the parking garage at $17/day!) this might pay for itself. But if it falls short, then UCLA will have to step in and pay the rest. Where that money will come from seems less than clear..... I wonder how the W and the Kimpton are doing? Are they really overbooked?? |
