National Night Out 2000

...was a huge success!!! Almost 75 people in the neighborhood attended on
August 1st for the seventeenth annual National Night Out. Mayor Ken Fellman, Chief Ron Sloan, Councilmember Marc Williams, Councilmember Shelley Cook, Arvada Police Department K-9 Unit, Arvada Police Department officers, and Station 8 of the Arvada Fire Protection District were in attendance. We had a K-9 demonstration which was fabulous! We had lots of food, drinks, and fun for everyone. It was wonderful to see so much support for our community and its fight against crime. A special thanks to Janeen and Eric Cepull who coordinated the gathering. Also a special thanks to Scott Smith of Evergreen Oil (Loaf -n- Jug), Tom Snyder of Safeway (64th & Ward), Brent Mackay of Burger King (64th & Ward), and Wal-mart (Wheat Ridge). A Big THANK YOU to all the fabulous sponsors of the event. Of course thank you to all our neighbors who brought food and supplies, and for their participation in this event to show our united front that criminals are not welcome in our community.
